| "Hi, I'm Dick and I'll be your waiter tonight" |
I waited all week for yesterday so I could watch this show on Discovery Health called "A Lyon in the Kitchen." I had never seen it before but I thought the guy who hosted it was kinda cute from the commercial and reminded me of Mike (yeah, the one that you wrote about in my yearbook). So as I watched it (6 times, BTW... two episodes, 3 times each, plus another On Demand), I realized there was something funny about this guy. Ashley and I watched and we came up with this: he looks like Mike, Chicken/Ian Ziering, and 'Mad-Driving-Skills-Guy... The last person is actually my neighbor how I discovered this morning was moving, but that's in my next paragraph. Anywho, going back to the topic of Nathan Lyon. Ashley and I found a couple of his quirks... he calls everything "these (little) guys" and as a fettish for Extra-Virgin Olive Oil and Fresh Italian flat-leafed parsley (or something like that). He also has a friend that he seems to like named Jason and he tries to be Italian... who knows, maybe he is. Also, Ashley and I picked up on a couple of things that he said in a few episodes that we cracked up about. Example: "Just use your hands, *looks up and grins at camera* you got two of 'em." I guess you just need to watch it.
When I woke up this morning, I saw my awesome neighbors loading up a U-Haul trailer in front of their house. I was bummed because I was just starting to like theose neighbors and was thinking about babysitting for them. Mad-driving-skills is the owner of the house (he's in his 20's) and he slightly resembles Mike but with a goatee. His roommate is cooler because he resembles Mike even more than mad-driving-skills but now they aren't gonna be living there anymore! :*(
I had a dentist appointment early this morning and it took 2 1/2 hours, no joke. They brought in a lab tech so they could find an exact color match for my implant and the dentist smoothed out my front teeth (they were jagged due to a poorly made retainer by the orthodontist lady), he also shaved down and prepared my tooth opposite the missing one so that it would be ready for a veneer (sp?). Basically, in 2-3 weeks I'm going back in for an hour and a half and then my entire implant will be complete! YAY! No more yucky plastic retainers and a tooth that pops out (when I make it).
Most of my day had been horrible, the 2 1/2 hour dentist appointment, my whole face being numb for half the day, the neighbors moving, two layers of de-sensitizers for my prepared  tooth, nonstop talk about picking a college, etc... So I didn't really find any excitement in going to Islands for dinner. But a surprise came when we were seated. As the dude at the restaurant sat us down, another guy came over and said, "Hi, I'm Dick and I'll be your waiter tonight." A smile spread over my face that I couldn't hide. It was my dad's friend Dick (we went hiking together and he and his family was on "Family Feud") and he was seated at the booth just diagonal from us (well, me mostly, I had the best view). He talked to us for a while and introduced us to his wife and cute little girls and that was mostly it. But they were there the whole time we were so at least I had someone to look at. I was smiling all dinner and that really brightened up my day ; ) |
